Eighty years have passed since the Kristallnacht pogrom, Nazi Germany’s prelude to the Holocaust. During that notorious assault on German Jews, dozens of people were murdered and the country’s synagogues were set ablaze.
Learn about the Holocaust during our three-part event on Friday, November 9, to commemorate Kristallnacht, or “The Night of Broken Glass.”
First, we will meet at 2:00pm for the “Lest We Forget” exhibit of Holocaust survivor portraits on Boston Common (see link below).
Following half an hour at “Lest We Forget,” we will walk to the New England Holocaust Memorial to tour that important site along the Freedom Trail.
During the tour, we will discuss ways to deepen Holocaust education on campus and our project “Together, Restoring Their Names,” a Holocaust memory service-learning project started in 2015.
The tours of “Lest We Forget” and the New England Holocaust Memorial will be led by Matt Lebovic, CJP’s Associate Director of Campus Services and a Holocaust correspondent for The Times of Israel. The presentation about Together, Restoring Their Names, will be led by Elan Kawesch, program director and a student at Brandeis University.
Uber codes will be sent to students who request one before the event. To request a code, email [email protected]
